About the Artist
Cheryl Vlachos is an accomplished American oil and watercolor painter whose work blends a Neo-Impressionist touch with a surreal flair. Recognized as part of the Nouveau School of Hudson River Painters, Cheryl is deeply committed to environmental preservation and supports both ecological and historical organizations through her art.
Inspired by masters of the past—such as Frederic Church, George Inness, and the Post-Impressionists—Cheryl has developed a style that captures the beauty and spirit of the natural world. Her luminous works have been exhibited in New York City galleries, SoHo, Westchester (NY), Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Rhode Island.

Cheryl’s dedication to her craft has earned her numerous awards, including:
- National Association of Women Artists NAWA Medal of Honor and Elizabeth Morse Genius Foundation Award- Watercolor Magnolia Dance
Audrey Hope Shirk Memorial Award for Oil Painting from the National Association of Women Artists (one of the oldest art organizations in the U.S.)

Her work has also been acknowledged by UNICEF for her role as an Art Director and muralist, creating hand-painted installations for exhibitions at the National Conference for Women in Beijing, China, in support of women’s and children’s rights worldwide. Today, Cheryl’s paintings are held in private collections across the country.
Professional Experience
In addition to her fine art career, Cheryl has worked as a professional Art Director and Graphic Designer for major organizations in New York City, including Time Warner/HBO, Philip Morris, Avon, and the United Nations. She also teaches art to both adults and children in Westchester, NY.

School of Visual Arts, NYC – Professional Art Studies
